The Weekly Pull: Kick A$$!

blog_xray2It’s a bit of a slim week for me personally but still one I’m excited about. I know I mentioned the upcoming film adaptation of Mark Millar’s incredibly fun “Kick Ass” series not too long ago, and now you can take a peek at the source material.

Barring any unforeseen delays, the opening 8 issue arc of Kick Ass! is finally being collected in hardcover format (Because it’s finally finished). The story of a kid in the “real world” who decides to live out his comic book fueled dreams of being a superhero and the subsequent hard dose of reality that is painfully inevitable.

DC Universe Origins is something else that I think is worth taking a look at. It’s pretty much just a collection of super-hero profiles that provided back up material in the single issues of DC’s huge weekly series “52” from a few years ago. Each character gets their own couple of pages detailing their origins all written and illustrated by some serious talent. Sounds like a perfect fit for someone’s coffee table, right?

Here are the rest of the week’s releases.

Heads up: According to my most trusted nerd sources, the new Punisher Max series is supposed to be awesome. It’s only on issue 3, so the timing to hop on board is pretty good.
