Things got out of control when two Los Angeles Dodgers fans attacked a Giants fan and Santa Cruz resident, Bryan Stow, in the parking lot of the Dodgers Stadium after the season opener on March 31. Stow, a paramedic and father of two, is currently in a medically induced coma at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center due to suffering many kicks to the head. Multiple fundraising and donation efforts have been made by local Santa Cruz businesses in his honor. Upcoming fundraisers will be held at:
*El Palomar Restaurant on April 11 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. There will be a raffle, silent auction, and food and drink specials. 1344 Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz, 425-7575, elpalomarcilantros.com.

*Malone’s Grill on April 13 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.. The restaurant will donate 30 percent of sales along with funds raised from a raffle and silent auction. 4402 Scotts Valley Drive, Scotts Valley, 438-2244, malonesgrillandpub.com.
*Stagnaro Bros. Seafood on April 14 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.. Stagnaro’s will donate 20 percent of all proceeds to the Bryan Stow Fund. Municipal Wharf, Santa Cruz, 423-1188, stagnarobros.com.

Monetary donations can also be made to the Bryan Stow Fund by mail or online. Money garnered will assist Stow’s family and go toward medical bills. Stow and his family remain in the hearts of all Santa Cruzans with hopes that he will recover soon.
