What do you do for a living?

I have a company called Maximum Impact Design, a graphic design studio that specializes in branding, graphic design, print collateral, packaging, logo and web design.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing that?

Organic gardener or skateboard instructor.

What do you do in your free time?

Free time? I try to spend time with my family, skateboarding and biking.

What brought you to Santa Cruz?

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, so I'd have to say my parents.

What's your favorite street?

Monterey Avenue in Capitola reminds me of downhill racing almost every time I drive down it.

Name something you're excited about.

I enjoy working with the nonprofit Board Rescue. We provide skateboards to youth organizations with limited funds to support after-school recreation for kids that cannot afford to have their own skateboards. It's very exciting to see the kids with happy faces.

Name a pet peeve.

Young skaters not wearing helmets and skating vert. Concrete is not forgiving. It is a big lesson and one I hate to see young people have to learn. Having a head injury is not cool!

What's the most important thing you've learned in the last three years?

To follow your dreams. ... I have learned that staying focused and keeping to a set goal have helped me to create a healthier lifestyle for both work and life. I try to work on projects that are both creative and interesting. If I have passion for the work it shows for both myself and the client.

Recent personal food trend?

Baked organic kale tossed in olive oil and salt spices. Even my kids like it.
