Larry Blood
Ten Questions for Larry Blood
What do you do for a living?
A juggle between contract work recording/producing the Monterey Jazz Festival, Cabrillo Music Festival and chamber concerts for presentation on KUSP-FM (88.9); recording "In Bed With Susie Bright" for her online show on Audible.com (check it out) and trying to pour the perfect Guinness at the Poet and Patriot Irish Pub.
What would you be doing if you weren't doing that?
I've always wanted to produce some creative jazz concerts, if only there was a way without losing one's shirt.
What do you do in your free time?
Ride my bike around Santa Cruz for exercise and fun, listen to all the great creative jazz which continues to come out so I can share it on Out Front, Outback on KUSP-FM, hang with my yellow cats.
What brought you to Santa Cruz?
A job at KUSP-FM.
What's your favorite street?
Cedar Street.
Name something you're excited about.
As Traffic would say: "Jazz, man ... you know, jazz! ... (Baby, baby, baby, where it's at)."
Name a pet peeve.
I'm wondering why our friends in blue can't park in less obstructive ways after pulling someone over.
What are you reading?
Currently between books in the adult fantasy genre.
What's the most important thing you've learned in the last three years?
Not to stress the smaller things.
Recent personal food trend?
In transition as my garden starts to produce. Ever tried purple carrots just picked and washed? Keep it fresh!
