HIDE AND GO SEEK

REGARDING last week's "Nine Tough Questions" ("Joy of Subpoenas: Nine Tough Questions for Congress" by James Ridgeway, News&Views, Nov. 22), thank you, Metro Santa Cruz, for giving the 9/11 issue the attention it deserves (as you have also done in previous issues). If 9/11 has been used to justify everything this administration has done domestically and abroad, then shouldn't we as patriotic Americans want to know everything about this tragic event as we possibly can? Yet the Bush administration and controlled mainstream media seeks to condemn anyone who asks a question or seeks an answer. We must ask ourselves why they are acting this way. What are they hiding, and why are they trying to hide it? In order to become more informed citizens regarding the 9/11 issue, I encourage everyone to attend the free screening of the film 9/11 Mysteries this Thursday, Nov. 30, 7pm, at the Vets Hall.

IVAN'S ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT

I'M WRITING about the new law Bush signed that allows him to make an end-run around the due process specified in our Constitution.

To defile the founding document of our country to catch criminals is like burning your house down to stay warm. The Constitution is the defining document of our country. To be a good American is to uphold it. Those who defy it have no place in this country.

George W. Bush defiled it when he signed this law, allowing him to ignore the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Amendments when searching for criminals.

When he was inaugurated as President, he placed his hand on a Bible and swore to uphold our Constitution. He has now not only dishonored his oath, but has defiled our country. In doing so, he did more damage to the country our Constitution founded than Al Qaeda could ever have done. He undermined our country's foundation. George W. Bush is a tyrant. I call on all Americans to oppose this law as un-Constitutional and to oppose this tyrant. I call for his removal.

PARTY TOWN USA

HI, Metro Santa Cruz. I'm the drummer in Hunkamama, a hot all-girl four-piece funk band, and we are coming to Henflings on Saturday, Feb. 16, on our Northern California tour. We are like Aretha Franklin smashed up with Led Zeppelin.

We are also scheduling a radio interview at KSCO to promote the show.

If you want a sneak-peak, check out www.myspace.com/hunkamama.

I lived in SC for 6 years and managed Rhythm Fusion around the corner from the clock tower. I'm really excited to come back to your party town!
