Local Talk

What are the most important issues to you in the upcoming local elections?

lt jamesWhat I’m concerned about right now is water. I don’t know how that’s going to be resolved as far as the election, but I was told we have to cut back on water. I’m really into my plants, so that’s my latest concern.

lt andreaI would say job wages. California is supposed to get a wage increase in July, but, from what they are saying, it’s not going to be enough. Because of the cost of living, most of us have to have two jobs in order to survive. And so I’m thinking that San Jose is cheaper to live, and they are getting a higher rate paid for minimum wage.

lt jorgeFind opportunities for the homeless that I see on the street. I see them doing OK on the streets, but find them opportunities to change for the better.

lt athenaRespecting and honoring the water is really important to me, and finding more ways we can do that and incorporating that into the framework [in which] we’re living our lives would be amazing.

lt leandraGang violence. I’d like people to look into that more. It’s not just an issue of people being bad, it’s an issue of economics. I think that it needs to be looked at more closely instead of just labeling people and categorizing people as bad.
