[whitespace] Bike to Work Week

A guide to pedal-powered events for the week of May 12-19

BIKING TO WORK doesn't have to be as daunting as humping it over Highway 17 under your own power, but it should come in handy when the price of gas spikes at $3-plus a gallon this summer. Bike to Work has planned an ambitious week's worth (actually it's eight days) of activities to help. Says Piet Canin, program director of Bike to Work, "We hope the 14th annual Bike to Work will provide cyclists with the education, inspiration and incentive to fully embrace commuting." A partial list of events follows; for full details, call 426.5925, ext. 11 or 423.9569, or go to www.bike2work.com.
