Local 9/11 Memorials and Happenings American Red Cross Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony The Santa Cruz County Chapter of the American Red Cross along with the County of Santa Cruz presents this community event to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11. Opening ceremonies include bagpipes, drum corps, a welcome from Mayor Christopher Krohn, children's choir, slide show and recognition of local volunteers. Commemorating 9/11: Poets & Musicians for Peace The Resource Center for Nonviolence and the Mental Health Client Action Network present a community celebration of war resistance, featuring presentations by Kim Nelson, Guari Delgado, Mary McCaslin, Allison Luterman and more.
