Faith As We See It

JP Wright & Susan Tammi Wright

"When we were dating, we had such a nice time at the Napoli restaurant in Carmel, and the Green Lantern Inn, so we made plans to go back. We had a beautiful window seat. After we finished our meal, I got down on my knees. I had to squeeze down between our table and the table next to us, and in doing so, proceeded to pull the table cloth next to us. So, I chose to ignore the remarks of the woman next to us, till I could finish. The soup almost ended up in her lap.

"Then I took a black velvet box out of my pocket, and gave her the ring. I said, 'Susan, you are my confidant, best friend and lover. We are the best when we're together. I wish to be with you forever. Susan, will you marry me?' She said, 'Yes' and started to cry, and the lady next to us started to cry, and then all the women in the restaurant started to cry.

"Everybody clapped, and I raised my glass and said, 'That's amore.' Right after dinner, I had a white stretch limousine waiting for us. I guided her to the limo, and she was so surprised, she didn't believe it was ours."
