Rose of Syrah 2011— a lush pink wine
What do Shopper’s Corner, Beauregard Vineyards and West Cliff Wines have in common? They all belong to the same family. Jim Beauregard owns Shopper’s Corner, and his sons Ryan and Andre are the talented duo behind their own wine labels—Ryan with Beauregard Vineyards and Andre with West Cliff Wines.
Although Andre Beauregard made his debut with his West Cliff Wines in 2012, he is not new to the business—having been around viticulture since childhood. And he is thrilled to have his own label to introduce to us.
Many people associate a Syrah wine as hardy and full-bodied, and a Rose made from the Syrah grape can be just as bold and satisfying. And Beauregard’s Rose of Syrah is just that. The Rose explodes on the palate with the distinctive earthy flavors found in a red Syrah, and the wine’s beautiful salmon-colored hue is a pleasure to behold. Soft plummy aromas greet the nose, and a touch of strawberry and spice on the tongue add a lot of pizzazz.
This is an all-round very drinkable wine that will go well with many different kinds of food. I opened it up and shared it with relatives over a hearty dinner of spicy chili and beans. We all loved it, including my husband, who much prefers a bold red. Beauregard’s Rose of Syrah and also his 2011 Syrah are both good buys at $19.99, so I suggest you head to Shopper’s Corner to get some for yourself.
