I would suggest spending time in less touristy neighborhoods, such as Seabright. Catch a live show at The Rio Theatre and then head next door to Oyunna’s restaurant for some amazing Mongolian food. When downtown I’d suggest Bookshop Santa Cruz and the Museum of Art & History.

Go sailing on the Chardonnay, go out on the ocean and see Santa Cruz from the ocean side looking at it from the other side.

I’d take them to the Boardwalk and the Capitola Beach, and the Harbor.

I would recommend going to Lighthouse Point on Sunday night and watching fire dancers, go boogie boarding at Twin Lakes beach. Also I’d say to go to Wilder Ranch for a walk, and go to the downtown farmers’ market and get samosas.
