.AHAVA, Baby

blog_beaut_AHAVAWomanIf you’re an avid reader of Obsessive Beauty, you’ve already heard about the make up and skin care godsend in Santa Cruz called Beauty 360—a sensational emporium packed with lotions and potions galore. My fellow blogger Christa Martin and I have been testing out the sumptuous products. In fact, our only complaint may well be that there are so many choices that it is difficult to know where to begin. That’s why we’ve decided to road test a smattering of brands and products, virtual test rats as you will, to save you the wrinkles you may have gotten had you raised your eyebrows trying to make such decisions.

My first round of testing involved a sleek skin care line called AHAVA Dead Sea Laboratories, a brand that creates products from the mineral rich waters of the Dead Sea in the Middle East. Though the blog_beaut_AHAVAWoman2packaging seemed quite clinical, the product inside was divine, very subtly scented like a fresh breeze blowing in from the Mediterranean. The AHAVA line includes facial moisturizers, exfoliators and hand cream, but my favorite by far was the Mineral Foot Cream. Tinged with a refreshing hint of peppermint, this quick-absorbing (read: non-greasy) lotion has the texture of fresh whipped cream and made my feet feel baby soft pronto. I’ve always believed that taking care of one’s feet is very important (wear dry socks, shoes that fit properly, regular foot massages etc.), as our feet are what get us from place to place. Use this AHAVA Mineral Foot Cream daily and your tootsies will be taking a step in the right direction.

The AHAVA Mineral Foot Cream sells for $19. Visit ahavaus.com for more information or visit Beauty 360, 1700 Mission St., Santa Cruz.
