COUPLES RETREAT Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau team up again for this comedy they co-wrote about four couples on vacation at a lush tropical resort who find themselves forced to participate in marriage-healing therapy sessions. Malin Akerman, Jason Bateman, Faizon Love, and Kristen Bell co-star for director Peter Billingsley. (PG-13) 107 minutes. Starts Friday.

FLAME & CITRON The real-life exploits of Danish resistance fighters out to subvert Nazi control in occupied Denmark during World War II is the basis for this action thriller from Danish filmmaker Ole Christian Madsen. With the precision of a gangster melodrama, Madsen sets up a turf war between the Germans and the brotherhood of resistance fighters, and as the body count rises, the moral distinction between the two camps erodes. Gripping, suspenseful and tragic, the film stars the great Mads Mikkelsen and simmering newcomer Thure Lindhardt as the guerrilla soldiers driven by irrefutable ideals and betrayed by what they must become to achieve them. THIRST Maverick Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook (Old Boy; Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance) takes a bite out of the vampire genre in this contemporary thriller about a priest who volunteers to take an experimental vaccine and ends up with a hankering for human blood—and other forbidden pleasures that include the wife of an old friend.
