film_flame_and_citronFLAME & CITRON The real-life exploits of Danish resistance fighters out to subvert Nazi control in occupied Denmark during World War II is the basis for this action thriller from Danish filmmaker Ole Christian Madsen. With the precision of a gangster melodrama, Madsen sets up a turf war between the Germans and the brotherhood of resistance fighters, and as the body count rises, the moral distinction between the two camps erodes. Gripping, suspenseful and tragic, the film stars the great Mads Mikkelsen and simmering newcomer Thure Lindhardt as the guerrilla soldiers driven by irrefutable ideals and betrayed by what they must become to achieve them. (Not rated) 130 minutes. In Danish with English subtitles. (★★★)—Lisa Jensen. Starts Friday. Watch movie trailer >>>

(R) 133 minutes. In Korean with English subtitles. Starts Friday. Late shows Fri-Sat only, at the Del Mar, 11:10 pm.
