Definitely the worst thing that has happened over the last year in Santa Cruz has been the rise in gang violence. The best thing would have to be the increase in community activities and involvement.

The best thing to happen in Santa Cruz this year was the collective efforts of our community to combat gang violence and street crime through groups like Take Back Santa Cruz.

I think the worst thing to happen in Santa Cruz was the misguided May Day riot. It harmed local business, made a mess and did more harm than whatever good was supposed to come from the message. The best thing? I’m really glad that India Joze is back!
