Built-to-SpillUSETHISWin tickets to see Built to Spill at The Catalyst on SantaCruz.com

Indie rock royalty Built to Spill is out on the road and swinging through Santa Cruz. Formed in 1992 in Boise, Idaho, the band has helped shape the underground rock scene for decades, and laid a path for countless bedroom indie rockers to create experimental music that took unpredictable twists and turns. Led by guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch, the guitar-heavy Built to Spill is touring in support of its latest offering, Untethered Moon, an album that’s as solid and interesting as anything they released back when they were one of the “it” bands of the indie scene.

INFO: 8 p.m. Sunday, July 12. Catalyst, 1011 Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz. $20/adv, $25/door. 423-1338.
