According to Dennis Bailey-Fougnier, vice president of Student Services at Cabrillo College, only 50 percent of college students receive the financial aid they qualify for. “Many are leaving money on the table,” he said in a press release for Cabrillo’s Saturday, Feb. 26 “Cash 4 College” event, where 40 trained Cabrillo and UCSC staff members will be on hand to help “demystify” the process of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Parents, students and prospective students, no matter where they attend or plan to attend, are invited to the Cabrillo Student Activity Center Building, Room 202, from 9 a.m. to noon to learn if they qualify for federal financial aid and to receive help applying for it.
