.Do sports unite or divide us?

lt vanI would say uniting us because even though you have the team rivalries you still have more people that sit together in stadiums and pubs and watch games together drinking, talking and having a good time. It gives a lot of people a common ground to get together and do something.

Ultimately uniting, not only fandom-wise but in playing. They bring us together and make us look past differences to either root for a team or play as a team.

I personally believe it divides people. Politically, sociologically and biologically. We crazy humans are what we are.

I think they’re better at uniting. If you’ve seen Invictus about how Nelson Mandela brought the country together through the soccer team. It’s just something I think of right away.

I feel like it’s all in the perspective of the person. People can choose if they want to be united through sports or divided. The idea of a team is an awesome way of bringing people together, but then when you get into competition it can spoil the magic of teamwork. I think it’s a choice.
