Jane Iredale does a lot right when it comes to makeup. Her mineral skincare and face make-ups are especially coveted, but personally, the eye pencils were what made a fan out of me. No other pencil will ever measure up. Smooth, soft and precise, the pencils are perfect for a crisp line (keep the pencil in the fridge for an even cleaner application) or for smudging for a smokier look. For me, the other big star in the jane iredale catalog is the Lip Fixation stain/gloss combo wand.
As more of a lip balm kind of gal, I’m picky when it comes to lip sticks, stains and glosses because they tend to be drying. Not so with this product—in fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the stain actually moisturizes and soothes my lips, while also giving them a plumper look. The stain goes on effortlessly (unlike others that have a more watery composition), dries quickly, and lasts several hours. It looks great plain for a matte style as well as with the accompanying complimentary gloss for a shinier look. There are two shades I’d recommend above the others, both of which are new to the Lip Fixation lineup: Mania (my favorite, hands down), which is a subtle orange/bronze with a gold gloss; and Passion, which is a classic deep red and clear gloss that makes for the perfect red lip look that’s all the rage. To boot, no jane iredale products are tested on animals, and the website gives a good list of which products are and aren’t vegan.
