By noon today, Thursday, July 14, the line of ticket holders awaiting tonight’s midnight opening of the final installment in the Harry Potter movie series stretched from Santa Cruz Cinema 9 on Pacific Avenue to the end of the block, wrapping around the corner and continuing for another full block until petering out at Cedar Street. The (mostly) young crowd is sporting Harry Potter T-shirts, homemade signs (one hormone-induced sign reads, “Will Get Sleazy for Ron Weasley”), Gryffindor scarves, Hogwarts sleeping bags, and much more. The first stretch of line dwellers reported being in their posts since yesterday afternoon and camping over night
