SANTA CRUZ – At Tuesday’s city council meeting, the Campaign for Sensible Transportation addressed the council about the city’s greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. They noted that emissions need to drop 38 percent from 2008 levels in order for the city to meet its reduction goals of 30 percent reduction by 2020. They recommended that this reduction be reached through reducing vehicle miles traveled, offering six recommendations for reducing auto trips drawn from the city’s 2003 Master Transportation Study.
