What do you think about the fact that 20,000 Santa Cruz residents commute over the hill?

I think Santa Cruz is still a bit of a beach town, and that means you have to commute to work, unless you turn it into a metropolitan area like San Francisco. If you tried to build 20,000 jobs in Santa Cruz it would be insane. I think it’s OK that people commute.

Santa Cruz is a beautiful place to live so people are going to choose to live here. But if you are trying to live here, I feel like you sort of have to go over the hill to find the jobs that will allow you to live the lifestyle you want to live in Santa Cruz.

I think people just need to be around the beauty and they are willing to live here in order to do that. I live in Santa Cruz and I commute to Los Gatos.
